BJP brings out charge sheet against the SPF government

Highlighting all the hardships and sufferings faced by the people of Manipur during the 10 years tenure of the Congress led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) and calling the term a "Dark Decade", the BJP has brought out a Charge sheet against the SPF.
The charge sheet was released by Prakash Javadekar, National Spokesperson, BJP and Election in-charge of Manipur at the party's office today.
The charge sheet states that the state of Manipur has experienced a "Dark Decade" under the leadership of O Ibobi since 2002.The SPF government has failed the people of the state on every account, be it law and order or development or social and physical infrastructure and governance.
The BJP in its charge sheet has charged the SPF government of creating distrust amongst the different communities settling in the state and also said that the SPF government has practiced the policy of divide and rule.
It further states that the charge sheet is just a reminder of how the people of Manipur have suffered for the last one decade.
Blaming the SPF government for the failure of law and order in the state, the charge sheet further adds that extortions, blockades, bandhs and killings have become the order of the day making Manipur totally unsafe for the common people.
The charge sheet cites examples including the incidence of a car loaded with bomb being found at Raj Bhawan; bomb blast at CM's Bungalow; shooting of Advocate General N Koteshwar inside a Minister's car; abduction and subsequent murder of Dr Kishan and two of his staff; assassination of Prof Islamuddin, former Dean inside MU complex; terror strikes at ISKON Temple, Sangai Festival and Sangakpham Bazaar killing four persons; killing of Lungnila Elazabeth after being abducted for ransom, etc.
It also pointed out that the numbers of UGs groups has increased from 9 to 40 and said that nobody is safe in the state.
Even the Central Home Ministry has admitted that the high ranking government officials are paying protection money to the UGs.
This lawlessness has made any progress impossible in Manipur.
Citing examples of scams and scandals witnessed during the so called "Dark Decade", the charge sheet pointed out that the Ibobi led government can easily find place in the Guinness Book Of World Records for corruption.
It also cited examples of the famous Primary Teachers' Appointment Scam, Police recruitment scams and PDS scams.
The charge sheet against the SPF government further mentions the bandhs and blockades which went for even more than 115 days and said that bandhs and blockades have become an order of the day where any organisation can call bandh and hold the people of Manipur people to ransom.
Further the BJP termed the highways of the state as the worst highways of the world.
No new industries have been set up during the 10 years term while many of the existing Units have closed down.
It further charges the Ibobi government with sponsoring Black Marketing which has led to phenomenal increase in prices of petrol to Rs 180/litre, Diesel to Rs 90/litre, LPG to Rs 1500/ cylinder and Kerosene to Rs 100/litre.The function was also attended by P Chandrasekhar Rao, BJP North East States Zonal Organisation, Smriti Irani, President, BJP Mahila Morcha and L Basanta, BJP, State Secretary.
Meanwhile, Bollywood Film Actress Hema Malini will be arriving in the state on January 19.She will be attending public meetings which are to be held at Langdum, Thoubal Ningombam, Lamboi Khongnangkhong and Dharmashala, in connection with the coming 10th Manipur State Assembly Election scheduled on January 28.Najma Heptula, Sushma Swaraj and other National leaders of BJP will also be visiting the state shortly.
