BJP Manipur Pradesh has today clarified that the party has no relation whatsoever with a promise that went viral through various media channels that each of the 21 players of Indian team of the U-17 World Cup would be given Rs 5 crore each .
Speaking to reporters at the party office located at Nityapat Chuthek, general secretary (Administration), BJP Manipur, K Saratkumar said that G Molecule Sharma, who announced to give Rs 5 crore each to all the players of Indian U-17 World Cup football team in the name of BJP Manipur, is not a member of the party .
Molecule might have applied for membership through online.
However, he is not known to party's State unit and the party has not entrusted him any work, Saratkumar said .
Meanwhile, Saratkumar said that many of BJP members and workers got elected in the just concluded 5th General Panchayat elections.
He thanked voters for electing party members and workers (although the elections were not held through party basis) .
BJP Manipur will convene State Executive Committee meeting tomorrow at 10 am at the party's office.
The meeting will endorse the resolutions adopted during the National Executive Committee meeting held recently at Delhi, Saratkumar said .
BJP Manipur leaders including its president and MP K Bhabananda, Chief Minister N Biren and BJP National Secretary and North East in-charge Ram Madhav, MP Prahlad Patel will attend the meeting.
