Sanitation campaign ends

The Total Sanitation Campaign (Swachchhata Utsav) launched by the UPA Government as a flagship programme has been successfully completed in the State.
The campaign was carried out for one full month in all the districts under Water and Sanitation Committees of district PHE divisions.
As a part of the campaign, district level water and sanitation committee of Imphal East district organised students' rally, painting competition and street plays between October 2 and November 3 with sanitation and cleanliness as their themes.
Likewise, Imphal West PHE Division too organised the campaign.
In Imphal West district, the campaign was launched by planting saplings in and around Lamphel DC office complex.
Further, mass rallies, street plays, documentary films related with sanitation and awareness programmes were also organised in the course of the campaign.
The closing function of the campaign was held today at Ibudhou Khamlangba complex at Sagolband Moirang Leirak.
Prizes were distributed to winners of the painting competition held as a part of the competition on October 23 during the closing function today.
