UNC decry excesses in Noney, calls public curfew

The United Naga Council (UNC) has strongly decried the excesses committed by a combined team of IRB and Manipur Police commandos against the civilians in Noney on Friday.
In a press statement issued late on Friday evening, the UNC strongly condemned the "senseless brutality of the communal IRB and police personnel�these in-disciplined and communal forces have turned into a legalized gang of terror and looters" .
The UNC alleged that the entire incident happened without any provocation from the public.
In protest against the state security excess, the UNC stated that in addition to the total bandh it has been decided to enforce a public curfew from 6 am to 6 pm on November 5 .
Further, the UNC appealed to the Naga public for any eventuality in the days to come and get prepared until its aspiration is fulfilled.
