Sticking to her demands for retrial of the selection for Asian Games and resignation of the Indian Boxing Federation secretary, international boxer Laishram Sarita has categorically stated that there will be no change in her stand of not playing for India in future and handing over the Arjuna Award conferred on her if these demands were not considered.
Highlighting her demands, Sarita accompanied by her husband called on the Union Sports Minister and submitted a memorandum along with the video recording of the trial, today.
Talking to The Sangai Express in this regard from New Delhi, Sarita informed that the Union Sports Minister has assured her the matter would be taken up with IBF officials so that a solution could be brought about within the next couple of days.
Later in the day, Sarita and her husband also called on Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at Manipur Bhavan and submitted a copy of the same memorandum.
In the meeting, the CM assured that the case of Sarita would be taken up with the Union
Sports Minister.
Sarita said that there would be no change in her decision of not playing for India in the future and relinquishing the Arjuna Award conferred on her if justice is not done to her.
