Villagers of Sadhu Paiso, family and the CRPF bid a tearful farewell to slain CRPF personnel from the state killed in an encounter with Maoists at Bandarbani forest in the Binapur area of West Bengal's West Midnapore district yesterday.
Twenty-seven year old Stephen Danglei son of late Thuyanbibou of Sadhu Khoiro village in Loktak Project area of Churachandpur district suffered succumbed to multiple bullet injuries in an encounter with Maoists in the midnight of Friday.
He was the fourth of seven children of the family and was served as constable in the B-Coy of 168 Battalion deployed there for countering with the Maoists.
The lifeless body of the personnel was brought back to Imphal Airport by a flight at 1.30 pm where family members, villagers, relatives, well-wishers and CRPF personnel of 32th battalion based in Loktak project led by an assistant commandant received.
CRPF officials taking part in offering last salute to the slain jawan before taking home for last rites assured that they will urge the higher authority for all possible assistants.
