The slogan of plastic-free environment, 'I want to live, please make my future green' reverberated in yet another glittering event organised by Blue and Green at Khuman Lampak main stadium this evening.
The anti-plastic pollution campaigners sent out the message on how dangerous plastic pollution is in the event filled with lots of scintillating music, dance, light, sound and other entertaining items.
Event Coordinator of Blue and Green, Joyraj Waikhom said, "Our group of young volunteers has been putting a committed effort to encourage the use of indigenous organic products by spreading awareness on minimal use of plastic carry bags and bottles.
He added, "The group has a dream to make the State a destination where the whole world rushes for organic products" .
The main attraction of today's event was an audio visual powerpoint presentation on surveys about plastic usage and pollution conducted by the group at different parts of the State.
The campaign was kick started on August 10 under the supervision of Institute of Fashion and Design (iFD), Lilong with the assistance from Ecology and Environment Wing, Assam Rifles and Maratha Light Infantry.
Special dance shows were presented by the volunteers of Blue and Green on the theme song of their campaign, 'Blue and Green for Organic Manipur'.
Dance, mime, drama and song competitions for young students were held, and prizes were given away by the dignitaries present in the event.
Pro-Vice Chancellor of Manipur University, Prof H Nandakumar Sharma, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union general secretary Naoroibam Phillips and LDA Project Director Th Ibobi made the event more lively with their presence as chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively.
