Army authorities have rejected the statement given by Hangkhanpao that the Singhat Govt High School has become non-functional following occupation by army.
A PIB (DW) statement clarified that the school was taken over by the district administration on July 31, this year after it was renovated by army at the cost of Rs 6 lakhs.
It further clarified that no security personnel is occupying the school.
Sainik cross country race: The Sainik School Inter House Cross Country race was held today.
About 120 students belonging to the States of Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and the neighbouring country of Bhutan studying in the school took part in the Cross country race which was flagged off by the Principal of Sainik School, Imphal.
The race covering a distance of approximately 8 kms started from Sainik School and passed through Heingang bridge on Imphal-Pangei road, Heingang foothill, Pangei Nepali Basti, Pangei Bazar, Hoatal and wound up at the football ground of the School.
The race was won by cadet Boboi Singh (class XI) of Netaji House while cadet Binand Singh and cadet Biondi Singh grabbed second and third positions respectively.
Further, Shivaji House was declared overall champion, added the release.
