In case there is any sitting of the apex Court on March 23, the final hearing may be done on the same day, sources said.
A notification issued by the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretary informed that the judgement of the Speaker's Tribunal regarding the final hearing of Shyamkumar's disqualification case would be announced at 11 am of March 28 .
Notably, as many as 15 Congress MLAs/petitioners lodged petitions at the Speaker's Tribunal speaking disqualification of Th Shyamkumar under the anti-defection law.
The Speaker's Tribunal headed by Speaker Y Khemchand conducted the final hearing of the case on February 4 but the tribunal reserved its judgement.
The same case was taken to the High Court of Manipur and it ultimately reached the Supreme Court following the High Court's observation that it has limitations to intervene in the matter and similar cases are pending at the apex Court.
Subsequently, the Supreme Court asked the Speaker's Tribunal on January 21 to take a concrete decision on the disqualification case within four weeks.
After holding the final hearing, the Speaker's Tribunal, on behalf of the Assembly Secretariat, then appealed to the Supreme Court to grant four weeks' time before announcing the reserved judgement.
However, an objection petition was filed at the Supreme Court against the appeal of the Speaker's Tribunal for granting four week's time.
The apex Court held another round of hearing on March 4 before fixing March 18 for final hearing of the disqualification case of Th Shyamkumar.
