Imphal, December 08:
Calling for immediate suspension of the ongoing army operation in Dingpi area of Chandel district to flush out militants, All Manipur TammiChingmi Apunba Nupi Lup has demanded resolution of the armed conflict in Manipur through democratic means.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, president of All Manipur Chingmi-Tammi Apunba Nupi Lup Soibam Momon Leima decried the double-standard nature of Government of India in trying to portray itself as a peace loving nation to the world while the people of Manipur are being subjected to army rule along with imposition of draconian law like Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
Not just the top Indian political leaders but also army officers have admitted that the problem of insurgency in Manipur would not be able to resolve through military action but through political dialogue.

This is nothing but deprivation of the livelihood of the villagers, she charged.
Coming out against the ongoing Samtal Operation of the army in the border area of Chandel district with Myanmar, National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) has also maintained that military action is not the solution to the problem of armed conflict in Manipur.
In a statement, secretary general of NIPCO Karam Sunil pointed out that the ongoing army operation has caused lot of suffering to the people of Samtal area.
