The State Government has issued strong instructions to the State Vigilance Commissioner to probe the charges that two officials of Settlement and Land Records Department demanded bribes from the public during the recent surveys at Imphal districts, according to a reliable source.
The probe order followed a complaint by four individuals to the CM that two Department officials -SKs - collected money from the public for payment to the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister, Revenue Commissioner and Director of Settlement and Land Records (Revenue).
The complaint submitted on November 22 alleged one of the SK as working under the AS & SO Imphal East I and covering 97-Chingmeirong Nongpok, 25 (A) - Kabo Leikai and 26 (A) - Nongpok Ingkhol.
