To spread awareness on HIV/AIDS on the occasion of World AIDS Day which falls on December 1, Social Awareness Service Organisation (SASO) would be organising various, activities under the theme of 'Be an AIDS activist - Lets share the issue and feel the change'.
A musical bonanza and AIDS awareness programme at Wahengbam Leikai Bus Parking would also be organised besides taking out a rally from MDU Yaiskul to THAU ground.
The rally would be flagged off by Rev Joseph Mittathany DD Archbishop of Imphal.
Distribution of IEC materials to the people and nutritional support to 700 PLHAs, campus talks and panel discussion on the issue on local cable network are other highlights of the day.
A painting competition and an awareness programme under the theme of World AIDS campaign would also be held at Kak-ching while SASO's team from Chandel would take out a rally at Chandel apart from organising awareness programme along with other NGOs and DAC.
As part of the World AIDS Day, 2004 observance, CARE Foundation and MSF Holland (Doctors Without Borders) in collaboration with local clubs of Nambol would be organising a free health camp for the general community at Nambol Bazar tomorrow from 10 am to 3 pm.
The objective of organising the health camp on this particular day is to mobilise and sensitize the general community for better response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic and also to realise- together the need of health care in regards to the said pandemic.
Chairperson of Andro Nagar Panchayat in association with local club members would be observing World AIDS Day by organising awareness campaign on the dreaded disease tomorrow at Andro community hall.
MO in-charge of Andro PHC Dr Mani and Dr M Birachandra among others would be resource persons of the function.
A mass rally would also be taken out to mark the occasion.
Joining in the World AIDS Day observance tomorrow, Health for All Organisation, Arong, RIAC Project, Sekmaijin would be organising a HIV/AIDS campaign at Arong Khunou Heibong Makhong UJB School.
134 BnCRPF would also observe the Day at its Lamphelpat headquarters tomorrow.
To spread awareness on HIV/AIDS among the jawans, a meeting would be organised to mark the occasion.
