Imphal, February 28 2012:
With at least 66 to 70 polling stations likely to go for re-poll, the State Chief Electoral Officer has written to the Election Commission of India to provide 62 companies of central paramilitary forces for the re-poll.
An official source informed that another round of re-poll would be held in polling stations where maximum proxy votes were cast as detected during the photo comparison exercise.
The Assembly Constituencies where re-poll would be conducted include Chandel, Tengnoupal, Saikul, Karong, Mao, Tadubi, Tamei and Singhat.
25 polling stations of Chandel AC would go to re-poll which is the maximum constituency-wise while a single polling station has been selected for re-poll in Singhat AC.
After the DGP has calculated the number of security forces that would be required for the re-poll, the CEO has asked for 62 companies of central paramilitary forces from the ECI.
The CEO also held a meeting this afternoon with concerned DCs and ROs of polling stations against which complaints were lodged with the ECI.
Even as photo comparison reports of the polling stations which would go to re-poll have been already sent, a special messenger would deliver true copies of the report to ECI tomorrow.

It is most likely that the ECI would announce the date and number of polling stations which would go to re-poll tomorrow, if not by late hours today.
Significantly, not a single polling station of the valley Assembly segments would go to re-poll.
