The Naga Mothers' Association (NMA) and Naga Women's Union have expressed concern over the rising crimes, violence and atrocities against women and children.
In a statement, the NWU demanded justice to the victims and family members of crimes against women and children including the inhumane torture of a nine-year old girl in Ukhrul, the gruesome act of rape and murder of Preeti Chiru of Waithou Chiru at Dimapur, and rape of a 13 year-old disabled girl in Thoubal district.
The NWU statement also urged the parents to impart the dignity of life and teach their children not to indulge in social evils.
Meanwhile, the NMA, in a separate statement urged the Nagaland State Women Commission to press the concerned Govt agencies for investigation to several cases pertaining to crime and violence against women and children.
The NMA also expressed concern on the latest seizures of cash, arms and alcohol from very prominent Politicians.
The NMA,while supporting the NBCC's Clean Election campaign, appealed to all to uphold the election code of conduct and ensure that free and fair election is held and public is able to elect good leaders for the State.
NMA also appealed to all national workers to desist from interfering in the State assembly election by maintaining peace and allowing people to exercise their freedom of vote.
NMA is also deeply concern on report incidences of kidnapping of women and children in the midst of preparing for election while strongly condemning the incidents.
