Blockade, a crime against humanity : CorCom

Imphal, December 19 2016:
The CorCom has categorically stated that all forms of economic blockades and counter economic blockades are crimes against humanity.
A statement issued by CorCom asserted that the blockades and counter blockades are parts of Government of India's conspiracy to disintegrate Manipur.
While conveying deep anxiety over the prevailing tense situation which has the potential to spark communal violence, CorCom appealed to all communities of the State not to indulge in any activity which may snap the hill-valley relationship.

It was the collective strength of hill people and valley people which defended Manipur (Kangleipak) from all external oppressive forces all along the Nation's long history. It is impossible for all the communities of not only Manipur but the entire WESEA to protect their identity and live a dignified life under the alien rule of India.
"We should not do anything which may abet the Government of India's divisive policy.
We must be aware that the Government of India has been pitching one community against another with a sinister design to destroy the unity of indigenous peoples", CorCom said.
After luring NSCN-IM with a bait called peace talk, the Government of India has been using NSCN-IM and their followers to create enmity among indigenous peoples of the region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoodwinked NSCN-IM by calling them "You are the guardian of our eastern frontier and our gateway to the world beyond", CorCom continued.
It further called upon all the indigenous people of the land not to let themselves fall prey to Government of India's divisive policies.
No indigenous community of the region can achieve freedom, development and equality if there is no cooperation and if they are separated, it added.
