Free Physiotherapy cum Awareness Camp organised at Senapati

A free Physiotherapy cum awareness camp was organised for the first time at Mini Stadium, Senapati today by the All Manipur Physiotherapist Association (AMPA) while Solomon Arow, president, Naga People's Organization (NPO) attended the programme as the chief guest; Dr Avoto Richa, MBBS, MD (Medicine & Sonography), Health Plus Clinic, Puokhomai Shopping Complex, Senapati as the guest of honour and Dr Sh Rosalind (PT), Finance Secretary, AMP A as the functional president.
20 members of the All Manipur Physiotherapy Association (AMPA) including its gen secy, L Romenkumar and executive members of the NPO, Senapati District Students Association and Senapati District Women's Association were also present in the programme.
Speaking at the occasion, the chief guest, Solomon Arow said that people of the region are still attached to old ways of treating disease to cure all kind of sickness in this scientific age while in other cities, people rush to physiotherapy clinic to seek treatment knowing the necessities of it.
The NPO's president also assured to cooperate in every possible way to promote the culture of Physiotherapic treatment in the district.
Dr Avoto Richa said that medicine alone cannot cure every diseases adding that some diseases can be treated through physiotherapy.
He continued that medicines and physiotherapy should go hand in hand to cure diseases completely.
Dr Sh Rosalind (PT) in her speech said that physiotherapic treatment started at RIMS in 1997 .
Till now, there are only 8 regular post in physiotherapy and 21 contractual posts in the State when there are more than 800 qualified physiotherapists' professionals in the State, she informed.
