Skill development programme begins

A one-week long skill development programme on silk yarn production using solar silk reeling and spinning machine began today at Manoharmayum Mandop, Nongmeibung Wangkheirakpam Leikai.
The programme is being organised by Manohar Adarsh Karma (MAK) Industries under the sponsorship of Department of Commerce and Industries, Govt of Manipur.
W Iboyaima, Regional Director, Central Board for Workers' Education, Guwahati and V Tualthang, Additional Director, Dept of Commerce and Industries graced the occasion as the chief guest and president respectively while the guests of honour were Salam Gaurakishor Singh, Youth Coordinator, NYK Kangpokpi and Imphal East and Th Arunkumar, GM, DIC Imphal East.
Speaking at the occasion, W Iboyaima lauded the innovative invention of solar silk reeling and spinning machine by the proprietor of MAK Industries while adding that the innovation deserved wide recognition.
Urging all concerned to extend support for the promotion of the machine, he also suggested that exporting the machine to other parts of the globe would be an added advantage for the State's economy.
