Peaceful coexistence must for inclusive development: Nemcha

Promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas", Social Welfare Minister, Nemcha Kipgen said unity and peaceful coexistence amongst different communities in the State will bring inclusive development.
Addressing closing ceremony of the 4th Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Sports Meet, 2020 at Bongbal Kholen village, Kangpokpi today, Nemcha said that games and sports instills sense of unity and healthy competition among youth.
Apart from taking keen interest in sports, children and youth should also focus on their studies, she said encouraging all to be responsible citizens.
Pointing out the harmful effects of illegal poppy plantations in the hill districts of the State, she said people should avoid such practices and adopt legal and healthy farming.
Nemcha also highlighted various skill development programmes and schemes of the Government to improve economy and elevate the living standard of the rural people.
Cultural songs and dances were also performed to mark the occasion.
MDC, Kamuchung DCC, Shila Konghay and MDC, Bongbal Kholen DCC, Thangjamang Kipgen also attended the event.
Earlier, Social Welfare Minister Nemcha visited ASHIANA, a protective and rehabilitative home under Ujjawala at K Themdoi village, Kangpokpi.
She inspected the home and interacted with the staff and residents.
