Senapati should become self-reliant in medical facilities: DC

In view of surge in the number of COVID-19 positive cases and fatalities in Senapati district, self-reliant in medical facilities is necessary to tackle the pandemic successfully, the Deputy Commissioner, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS said during an interaction with media persons in his office chamber.
He informed that at present the District has two Covid Care Centre (CCC) with capacity of 245, including 45 in District Hospital and 200 in ADC building.
He also mentioned that the ICU seats have been increased from 2 to 4 in District Hospital while two more ambulances were added after necessary repairs.
The DC extended his appreciation to PHE Minister, Losii Dikho for his generous donations and stated that the necessary work to purchase medical equipment for OT has been initiated.
The Process for materializing the sanctioned oxygen plant to be installed at District hospital campus has also been initiated, he added.
Mahesh Chaudhari also informed that efforts to place at least one or two oxygen concentrators in each PHC in the district is in pipeline.
Moreover, a mobile medical unit has also been stationed at Mao Gate Screening Point since last week.
He informed that to avoid crowding of public in the market, a proper planning is required.
Restrictions imposed earlier remain the same, except for agricultural activities.
In regard to home isolation, Chaudhari said that the respective SDOs were the convenor of Community Home Isolation and added that with 78 active Covid positive cases in the district many of the people prefer home isolation rather than staying at Covid Care Centre.
