Mission Bangalore: Ratankr meets K'Karnataka Governor, CM

Bangalore, August 27 2012:
As a part of his mission to maintain good rapport with Karnataka government in the post-spill over impact of lower Assam's communal riots on Manipuris in Bangalore, Works and Transport Minister Dr Ratankumar Singh met CM of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar on Monday.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister told Ratankumar, who is a special emissary of the Manipur Government, that there is complete normalcy in the Bangalore and all possible measures have been taken up to safeguard the interest of people of North East including Manipur.

The special emissary also conveyed personal greetings of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh over the care and concern shown by Karnataka government towards the people of Manipur when fear psychosis gripped the minds of the people of North Eastern States residing in Bangalore and other parts of the southern state.
Earlier on Sunday, on the sideline of an Eid Milan function hosted by C K Jaffar Sharief Family Foundation at Bangalore's Palace Ground, Ratankumar met Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj, who assured that his Raj Bhavan would be thrown open to NE people to ensure their protection in the event of any violence in future.
Recollecting the Manipuri Festival, which was held at Karnataka's Raj Bhavan in February 2012, the Governor observed that he always had close bonding with the people of Manipur residing in Karnataka.
