Dr Ratan on mission at Karnataka

Minister for Works and a Special Emissary of the Government of Manipur, Dr Kh Ratan Kumar today called on Karnataka Chief Minister, Jagadish Shettar in his Home Office in Bangalore.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka was reported to have told Dr Ratan that there is complete normalcy in Bangalore and that all possible measures have been taken up to safeguard the interests of the people of North East, according to a statement released by Dr V Ramakantha, Additional CCF and Liaison Officer of the State Government.
The Karnataka CM said that his Deputy had gone to North Eastern States including Manipur and appealed to the people who have left the State to return.
Dr Ratan Kumar conveyed the personal greetings of Okram Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur and expressed his happiness about the care and concern shown by the Government of Karnataka towards the people of North East including Manipuris when fear psychosis gripped the minds of the people of Northeast, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Dr Kh Ratan Kumar, attended the Eid Milan function hosted by CK Jaffer Sharief Family Foundation at Palace Grounds, Bangalore.
His attending the Eid Milan party which had the theme of Peace, Harmony, Secularism, Social Justice and Common Brotherhood was significant in view of the development happening in the State of Assam, said the statement.
Dr Kh Ratan Kumar, the Special Emissary of the Government of Manipur interacted with Dr HR Bharadwaj, the Governor of Karnataka who was the Chief Guest at the function that was attended by prominent personalities from various walks of life including political bigwigs from the State of Karnataka.
Dr HR Bharadwaj, the Governor of Karnataka expressed his happiness that the people from North East are returning back to his State.
During an informal conversation, Dr HR Bharadwaj, the Governor of Karnataka reiterated that he always had close bonds with North East India and especially with the people of Manipur.
He said that Raj Bhavan is open to the people of North East.
He recollected with pleasure the Manipuri Kumhei that he had hosted in his Raj Bhavan in February 2012. After the Eid Milan function, Dr Kh Ratan Kumar interacted with the representatives of people of North Eastern States residing in Bangalore including the people of Manipur, it added.
