Babysana's death case : CBI submits third probe report

CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata, submitted its third report on the investigation into the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana, before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West today.
The report mentioned that in compliance with the order issued by the High Court of Manipur on November 6 last year, a regular case was registered and a progress report was submitted before the Court (CJM Imphal West) on February 3 this year, detailing the progress of the investigation between the period January 2 to February 2.The said report was accepted by the Court the next day (Feb 4) .
The CBI report informed that in the afternoon of February 15, a joint team of CBI and experts from Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory, New Delhi, under MB Bardhan (Director, CFSL, New Delhi) visited the scene of crime, in the presence of Babysana's father, representatives of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School and Manipur police.
A memorandum was submitted to the authority concerned for unlocking the premises of boarding, which had been locked by the State police since July 30 last year, and today, the CFSL New Delhi team collected some physical evidences from the site, although a report on this matter is yet to be received.
Altogether 5 personnel of Singjamei PS, then SDPO of Imphal S Nandababy Sharma and an escort of Additional SP (Operations), who were all associated with the investigation of the case, were examined, the report mentioned.
Two prosecution witnesses were examined and their statements were recorded.
The statement of Founder cum Principal of the school, Pheiroijam Landhoni, school coordinator Pheiroijam Romita and Junior Administrator of the school Pheiroijam Robinson, who are all currently on bail, were also recorded.
During the period under scrutiny, CBI team also called on the Joint Secretary (Home) for granting necessary logistical support for the establishment of a camp in Imphal and also to provide an interdisciplinary team of Child Psychologist/Psychiatrist and interpreter (Manipur to English and Hindi and vice versa) for the purpose of the investigation.
The report continued that the contact numbers/names and details of the employees of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary Residential School, Canchipur, were collected.
It may be recalled that Ningthoujam Babysana, was found hung to death inside the school boarding on July 18 last year.
