Imphal, March 13 2011:
Kuki Chiefs' Associations of Tengnoupal AC president TL Holkhokhai Haokip, Kuki Chiefs' Association Chandel AC president Tolkhothang Khongsai and Kuki People's Forum spokesperson Robert have categorically stated that there is no organisation by the name of Civil Rights Alert in Chandel district.
Speaking to media persons this afternoon at Molnoi (near Pallel), they maintained that there is no other Kuki civil organisations in Chandel district than Kuki chiefs' associations of Tengnoupal AC and Chandel AC, Kuki People's Forum, Kuki Students' Organisation, Thadou Students' Association, Thadou Tribe Council and Kuki Women Human Right.
The so called Civil Rights Alert and its publicity secretary Jathang Haokip are unknown to the people.
Saying that the name Jathang Haokip is not present in the census record and his village is unknown to the people, TL Holkhokhai Haokip, Tolkhothang Khongsai and Robert asserted that the name is a fictitious one.
The recent press statements issued in the name of a non-existent organisation by using a fictitious name has become a cause of disunity in Chandel district, they said.
Being a fictitious name, all the press statements made by Jathang Haokip were all baseless.
In case Jathang Haokip really exists, he should declare his address and particulars through media within three days.
They further invited Jathang Haokip, if he really exists, to come out in the open to work together for welfare of the people.
