24 hrs total shut down of NH-2 threatened

Imphal, September 07 2017:
Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (LNKR) and Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi have threatened to launch a 24 hour total shutdown of National Highway- 2 (Imphal- Dimapur road), if the State Government and the authority concerned fail to arrest and punish the culprit involved in the rape of a minor at Viewland colony, Senapati HQ on August 1 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, LNKR information and publicity secretary Diphui said that the association has been appealing the State Government to arrest the culprit and to award befitting punishment but to no avail .
He said that if the State Government and the authority concerned fail to arrest the culprit, Kh Kasinba s/o Kh Adiatba of Karuangmuan, Nungtek, Tamenglong, within 48 hours, the associations will be forced to impose a 24 hour total shutdown of National Highway- 2 .
Appealing all the student organisations to support the agitation, Diphiu said that an ultimatum has been submitted to the Chief Minister as well as the Deputy CM .
President of Liangmai Pui Naga Ruangdi, Priscilla Thiumai said that the associations have made all necessary preparations to launch different forms of agitation if the State Government fails to arrest and punish the culprit.
