The Liangmai Sports Association of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (LSA-AMN) has expressed strong resentment over the indifferent attitude of the state government and other concern authorities meted out to the general public Tamei subdivision.
President of the LSA-AMN Dara Newmei highlighted that the cell-phone functioning of the sub-division has been down since the early part of August but nothing encouraging steps have been come forth from the authorities concern to address the matter.
The LSA chief pointed out that the cell-phone commodity has been serving the people of the area like Tamei in a big way but the disruption of the connectivity for such a long period with no authorities bother to attend to the problem amounts to step-motherly treatment shown to the people of the area.
Optical Fibre Cables connecting to Tamei have been spoilt during the calamity occurred due to heavy Monsoon downpouring which in turn led to numerous landslides along the IT Road.
The worst of the calamity had been witnessed at the Turibari area just after crossing Kangpokpi towards Tamei.
Dara Newmei appealed the authorities concern to do the needful at the earliest time possible or else the woes of the general public in the Tamei sub-division are bound to multiply.
Meanwhile, the 20th Sports Meet of the Liangmai Sports Association Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (LSA-AMN) will be held at Thonglang Village (T.Bena), Senapati district from January 22 till February 1, 2008.The LSA said that the features of the event will be football and volleyball tournament for both men and women and individual games.
It said that cash prize of Rs 25,000 would be awarded to the winner of men football.
Necessary informations will be intimated to the teams/clubs associated with the LSA, according to the LSA and requested to contact secretary, Games and Sports at the Head Office, Tamei.
