On a two-day visit to the State, GOC 3 Corps Lt Gen MS Dadwal, AVSM, VSM arrived at Mantripukhri today and attended a security forces formation commanders' conference at HQ IGAR (South).
Presided over by the visiting GOC, the conference was attended by IGAR (North), IGAR (South), GOC 57 Mountain Division and Commanders of 21 and 23 Sector Assam Rifles among others.
GOC 3 Corps welcomed all the participants and expressed his appreciation on the performance of all formations and units.
Besides reviewing the existing security scenario prevailing in the State of Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and Mizoram, the assessment of the internal situation and new development in neighbouring countries and its impacts on India was also considered during the conference.
All issues related to operational aspects and security were also discussed in great details and new strategies were pondered over to ensure complete success of all operations against the UGs.
Later during the day, accompanied by COS, IGAR (South), GOC 57 Mountain Division and BGS 3 Corps, Lt General MS Dadwal also called on Governor Dr SS Sidhu and apprised the latter on the security situation and the progress on the SOO agreement with hill-insurgency group.
GOC 3 Corps would also be visiting troops deployed in operations in remote areas of the State during his visit.
