Imphal, February 03 2013 :
While clarifying that the organisation is in no mood to undergo peace talks with the Government of India or compromise its revolutionary principles under any circumstances, the proscribed armed outfit, United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) has appealed to the people of the State and the fellow revolutionary organisations for continued support.
In a statement issued by its Central Committee, UPPK maintained that the selfish motive of its Advisor Meisnam Biren alias Chaamba of Sagolband, Chairman Bonbihari alias Laangamba of Thangmeiband, External Affairs Secretary Kritibabu alias Uraaba of Kwakeithel Moirangpurel and Laishram Ranjit Khuman of Mayang Imphal who left the organisation without any apparent reason or informing anyone has put the organisation under a cloud of suspicion.
Furthermore, suspicious arrest of its General Secretary Ningthoujam Shanti alias Chinglemba Mangang of Wahengbam Leikai, Finance Secretary Langpoklakpam Inaocha alias Birjit of Kongjeng Leikai and Organising Secretary Konthoujam Homeshwor alias Chingkhei of Konthoujam has made the oirganisation not worthy for trust inside the CorCom as well as the people of the state.
However, the remaining Central Committee Member Lemba, who is the Home Secretary, and other main officers of its armed wing Kangleipak People's Army (KPA) discussed the matter seriously from December 1 to 3 last year and appointed new Central Committee Members.
As per the resolution taken during the meeting, Lemba has been appointed as Acting Chairman as well as the General Secretary and the Home Secretary for the moment.
Other members are Poirei Mangang (Deputy Finance Secretary cum Deputy External Affairs Secretary), Konthou (Defence Secretary, Chief of Army Staff), Lakpa (Deputy Organising Secretary and Major America (Information and Publicity Officer) .
The statement of the Central Committee of UPPK warned the arrested and deserted leaders to refrain from holding peace talks or having any sort of nexus with the India government and the Indian Security Forces.
If the reports of them having talks with the Indian Security forces are true and if they continue to do so, UPPK will not spare them at any cost.
