Imphal, April 30:
The office of the Imphal Municipal Council was sealed by some unidentified persons at about 2 pm of April 27.The was probably in connection with the initiative to privatise garbage clearing work and collection of toll tax and parking fees, informed a source.
However, IMC employees denied any knowledge of the possible motive behind the act of locking the office.
Some IMC employees informed that Chairperson Jibanlata, Executive Officer Noren and other officers have not been attending the office since then.
But other employees have been attending the office as usual.
They further appealed to the IMC authority to resolve the matter amicably keeping in view the plight of the employees who have not been paid their salaries for the last 20 months.
