Imphal, August 23 2016:
BJP Manipur Pradesh has lambasted the State Government for cancelling the DPC held for recruitment of 2000 Constables in Manipur Police in 2013 .
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Adim Pamei asserted that the very act of cancelling the recruitment process held in 2013 is a direct challenge to the right to life of thousands of people.
Spoiling the career and future of thousands of youth is a serious crime, Adim Pamei said.
He said that he was touched when some guardians disclosed during a meeting held today at Singjamei that they gave bribes to Government authorities after selling off homesteads and agricultural lands in order to get their sons/wards recruited.
BJP Manipur Pradesh would launch all kinds of agitation together with the masses if the Government order which cancelled the DPC is not revoked within five days.
The party would also extend all possible assistance to all the candidates victimised by the State.
BJP Manipur Pradesh would also send a detail representation to the Union Home Minister on the issue, Adim Pamei added.
M Hemanta, another vice-president of BJP Manipur Pradesh asserted that the State Government give to clear explanation why the recruitment process of Constables should be held anew.
He said that the Congress Government has been inviting applications to thousands of Government posts with the sinister objective of collecting an astronomical amount of money ahead of the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Out of around 50,000 candidates who joined the recruitment process held in 2013, a total of 10,249 candidates cleared the written test.
By this stage, the Congress Government had collected many crores of rupees.
BJP would never remain a silent spectator to such awkward and whimsical nature of the Congress Government, Hemanta said.
M Asnikumar, third vice-president of BJP Manipur Pradesh said that the State Government is unable to implement many flagship programmes launched by the Central Government.
Even though a Rural Engineering Cell of PMGSY has been already opened, it is still not fully functional.
It was illogical for the irrelevant Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department to conduct DPC for the Rural Engineering Cell.
It has become an accepted culture that no work orders are issued without paying 'commission' to concerned Ministers and their approval.
This is one major factor for the inordinate delay in implementing many flagship programmes in the State.
The number of working days under MGNREGS has shrunk below 10 days in Manipur although the number of working days under the scheme is around 200 days in other Indian States where BJP is in power.
No flagship programmes can be implemented in time and successfully in Manipur because the Ministers have been scheming to deduct their commissions even though the Centre released necessary funds in time.
The State Government was just trying to conceal their failures and wrongdoings by falsely blaming the Centre for non-release of funds in time, Asnikumar said.
BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesman RK Shivachandra said that they would vehemently oppose the State Government's attempt to hold a fresh process for recruitment of police Constables after cancelling the DPC held earlier.
