Delhi deputes officials to RIMS

The Additional Secretary, the Joint Secretary and the Director (North East) of the Union Health Ministry would arrive here and hold a meeting of the Standing Finance Committee on September 22 to look into the financial requirements and utilization of funds in RIMS.
RIMS Director in-charge Prof Ch Arunkumar, Medical Superintendent Prof Amuba and other high ranking officials would attend the meeting.
Salaries of employees and financial requirements for the current financial year would be the main agenda of the meeting, informed a source.
On the other hand, the 4th Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India (API) Manipur State Chapter and CME Geriatric Medicine was kicked off at RIMS Jubilee hall from today.
The two-day conference is organised by API Manipur State Chapter and Department of Medicine, RIMS.

Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, API Manipur president Prof Th Bhimo and RIMS Director Prof Ch Arunkumar graced the opening function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Addressing the function, AK Mirabai said that holding a conference to exclusively deliberate on the health conditions of aged persons is an honour to the senior citizens of the society.
Saying that showing respect to elders is part of the culture and tradition of Manipuri society, the Minister expressed hope that the conference would bring about new change and development in the health care system of aged people.
In his speech, Prof Ch Arunkumar said that it is a matter of pride that medical students, who passed out from RIMS, are serving the people in different parts of the country and North East region.
He added that enhancing the value of super speciality is among his top priorities as a RIMS Director.
Prof Th Bhimo while speaking at the function expressed hope that Post Graduate and Under Graduate students of RIMS would be able to save the life of many geriatic patients during their professional career.
The conference was organised with an aim to present a better livelihood to people, he added.
