Imphal, September 20 2014 :
All Manipur Students' guardian organisation (AMSGO) secretary S Sumati, in a press meet held at AMSGO office premises, Konung Mamang, has demanded revocation of rationalisation order by Manipur State Government.
Dubbing the Government's rationalisation order as faulty, Sumati said that the system could affect the academic career of students at large.
Even demised and retired teachers were listed for rationalisation by the Government.
Sumati questioned the rational behind the State Education Department's posting sequence.
The increasing doubts against the department have only battered the image of the department, she added.
She requested the authorities concerned to immediately revoke the rationalisation order in the interest of the students keeping in view the approaching board and council examinations.
Drawing the attention of Education Minister, M Okendra to the matter, Sumati has appealed for the formation of a rationalisation committee constituted by the Education Minister himself as chairman, Education Commissioner as secretary and the Zonal Education Officers as members of the committee.
She further demanded immediate appointment of a new secretary for the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (the post was formerly held by L Rajamani who has retired two months ago) .
The post has been lying vacant ever since L Rajamani retired from his post two months ago on July 31.Due to this, works which otherwise should be done by the secretary are pending at BOSEM.
It is the students who have been suffering the worst because of absence of the Secretary but how the government has been dealing with the matter only exposes its total indifference, declared Sumati.
The organisation has therefore demanded immediate appointment to the vacant post of Secretary.
