Road block threat raised

Decrying alleged lack of initiative by the Government to develop/repair the road section from RIMS Road traffic point to Langol housing complex, locals of Lamphelpat area have threatened to close the said road in case black-topping works are not taken up within 10 days.
speaking to newspersons at Officers' club Shopping Complex, new building today, Super Market Areas Joint Committee member M Ranjit highlighted that roads connecting different pockets of Lamphelpat residential areas have been lying in the worst possible condition for the past four years.
most of the roads were actually dug up for laying pipes and related construction works for the sewerage project causing severe inconveniences to the locals for the last many year, said the member who stated that problem currently besieging residents of Lamphelpat areas is from pollution as speeding vehicles kick up dirt for many of the roads are yet to be black topped.
Contending that many children and elderly citizens residing by the roadside had fallen ill consequent to prolonged inhaling of polluted air, Ranjit demanded that Government of Manipur initiate black topping works within 10 days failing which the roads would be shut down.
