Drugs seized from Myanmar national

Moreh, March 01 2013:
Amidst the din following the recent big haul of drugs at Pallel and elsewhere, the Custom Preventive Force, Moreh has seized drugs worth Rs 18 lakh from a Myanmar national while conducting a check at Moreh Ward No 6 Nepali Basti today around 2.30 pm.
The smuggler has been identified by the officials as Wye Aung (31) s/o (L) Oo Tin Aung of Auching, Tamu.
A total of 1750 tablets of WY Tablet (known for its high concentration of Hydrochloride) were recovered from him.
Superintendent of Custom Preventive Force, RK Darendrajit, who supervised the checking, valued the seized drugs at Rs 17,50,000in the International market.
The man has been transported to Imphal today around 8pm.
Meanwhile, 2.75 kg of opium was seized by personnel of 9 AR while conducting a check on an auto-rickshaw at an AR check-post near Kwatha Lamkhai today.
The owner of the opium has been identified as Apao Mate (40) s/o Doungam Mate of Khudengthabi, said a source.
