Imphal, August 28 2017:
A two-day workshop on 'Aadhar Verification: Missing Details of Subscribers' was opened today at Classic Hotel under the aegis of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Special State Office Imphal .
Speaking at the inaugural session, EPFO Imphal Special State Officer SK Saka highlighted the need for collective efforts of all stake holders in order to open a regional office of EPFO at Imphal .
Opening a regional office at Imphal would certainly a help a lot in addressing problems faced by subscribers in withdrawing money as well as other difficulties, he said .
In order to get a regional office opened at Imphal, all the stake holders need to exert pressure on the Government of India and other relevant authorities .
Personal details such as names, addresses, dates of birth etc furnished in EPF forms should be matching with such details given in PAN cards, Aadhar cards, and bank accounts.
Otherwise employees would face a number of difficulties and they would not be able to withdraw money in time, he said .
Women employees should avoid the word 'ongbi' as far as possible while filling in EPF forms, Saka said .
Employees can claim EPF online on retirement or while in service.
So far, around 20 employees have claimed EPF online .
Guwahati Information Directorate's Assistant Director W Debendra said that employees can now apply for loans online from EPF for marriage, construction of house and medical treatment .
The workshop also featured an interaction programme.
