All preparations have been put in place for one of the biggest festivals of the Chin-Kuki-Mizo group, State level Kut 2014 celebration at Ist MR Parade Ground on Nov 1 .
Briefing media persons today at 1st MR Banquet Hall, spokesperson and media in-charge of SLKC, Chunglenmang Kipgen said like previous ones, the State level Kut 2014 will also be divided into two sessions - morning cultural session and beauty pageant in the evening.
Dy Chief Minister Gaikhangam will grace the morning cultural session as the chief guest while Chief Minister O Ibobi will grace the evening beauty contest session as the chief guest.
A total of 11 (half of the Kut celebrating tribes) tribes would showcase their rich colourful traditional dances this year while the remaining 11 tribes would be given slots in the Kut celebration next year, Chunglenmang said.

Rs 55,000, Rs 45,000, and Rs 35,000 would be given to the cultural troupes which come first, second and third respectively in the competition.
A total of 22 damsels will walk the ramp in the evening beauty contest session.
The tiara of the coveted Miss Kut 2014 will go along with Rs 1,00,000 while Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 which would be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd runners-up.
Rs 15,000 each would be given to the sub-title winners, he said.
Chunglenmang further said commandos, IRB personnel under the command of CO 1st MR, SP Imphal West and SP (CID) would look after the security arrangement besides around 150 strong member of National Games Village womenfolk (meira paibi) assisting them.
Secretary of SLKC, P Doungel said three entry points have been arranged for the day's programme at 1st MR ground.
VIPs of the day would enter through the main gate of 1st MR near Kalimai Mandir, invitees and participants would come through Jail road while the public would enter the venue from the BSNL Bhawan side.
Reporters would be entertained through any of the three entry points.
P Doungel requested all concerned to refrain from using intoxicants at the festival venue.
