Ningol Chakkouba celebrated across State and beyond

Like in the previous years, the All Jiribam United Club Association (AJUCA), Jiribam organised a Ningol Chakkouba feast for the married women of all communities of Jiribam yesterday at Jiri-College, Kadamtala, Jiribam.
On the other hand, the Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), Jiribam also organised a Ningol Chakkouba feast at Gularthol Bazar Complex.
Motum Bina Devi Pradhan Hilghat GP, M Hemanta, president Jiri Development Organisation(JDO) and B Sarat Sharam, Advisor, JIMPAL attended the function as the chief guest, president and guest of honour.
Meanwhile, 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) hosted Ningol Chakkouba at Pallel on October 25 in traditional style and fervour.

Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber, Commander of 26 Sector Assam Rifles hosted the function and extended greetings to families and elderly ladies who participated in the function.
The event was organised honouring the Meitei local customs and traditions though it is also being celebrated by other communities with the same zeal nowadays.
Speaking at the occasion, the Commander emphasized the rich heritage and culture of Manipur and underlined the necessity to preserve the same.
He further highlighted the importance of respecting the age old customs and how the Assam Rifles as "Friends of the North East" have integrated closely over the years with the local traditions.
All the ladies were presented gifts as a mark of respect.
The ladies in turn extended their gratitude, for inviting them on the auspicious occasion.
Around 100 women attended the event which ended with a traditional lunch.
Meanwhile, 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Ningol Chakkouba festival at Singjamei post on October 25 .
A total of 30 women clad in traditional attire attended the event.
The celebration acted as a platform for increasing mutual trust and confidence between Assam Rifles and local population.
The ladies who attended the celebration were served with lunch and were also presented gifts, according to a PRO IGAR (S) release.
At the same time, with the firm objective of fostering the spirit of unity, harmony and goodwill among the Manipuri brothers and sisters in and around Pune, Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND), Pune organised Ningol Chakkouba yesterday at Aadrika Restaurant, Pune.
The organisers believed that the occasion will help promote the peaceful coexistence and social bonding by reaffirming the faith in traditional values.
Fun filled pre-lunch as well as post-lunch entertainment programme besides presenting gifts to Ningols and kids by the Pibas marked the occasion, according to a statement issued by AMAND.
