A newly constructed building of Tamenglong Government Higher Secondary School was inaugurated at Tamenglong district headquarters today by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh as chief guest.
MPCC (I) president Gaikhangam presided over the function.
In his address, the Chief Minister said the process for filling up the existing vacant posts of teachers in various schools of the State has already been started after a Cabinet decision.
After the appointment process is completed, the required teachers of Tamenglong Higher Secondary School would also be posted, he assured.
In order to solve the medical and health care problems, arrangement have also been made to appoint 160 medical officers, he said, adding that some of the appointed medical officers would also be definitely posted at Tamenglong to redress the grievances of the people with regard to lack of adequate medical personnel.
Enumerating on other developmental plans to be taken up in Tamenglong district, the Chief Minister said plans are afoot to complete installation of Power sub-stations at Rengpeng, Noney, Tamei and Tousem so that enough power can be generated and assist in storing the food grain and other agricultural products.
To provide employment opportunities, a sum of Rs 4.67 crores had already been released to 208 beneficiaries under the SEPG scheme, he said, adding that a sum of Rs 12.49 crores for development of Khongshang-Tamenglong Road, Rs 10 crores for construction of a New Secretariat complex and another Rs 7 crore for water supply have also been kept aside over and above the plan for construction of the school and college buildings in the district.
In his presidential address, MPCC(I) president Gaikhangam said the people of Manipur should be grateful to the Congress led SPF Government for the developmental projects developmental works that are being taken up as well as for others that are being planned.
PHE Minister TN Haokip, Power Minister Francis Ngajokpa and MLA Z Mangaibou were also present at the occasion.
