Doctors directed to be in place of posting

Taking serious note of the critical situation prevailing in the State on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has directed all Government doctors to discharge their duties regularly at their respective place of posting.
A notification issued today by Principal Secretary (Health) V Vumlunmang asked the Director of Health Services to ensure that all doctors working under the Health Services are on duty at their respective place of posting.
Pointing out that private practice by Government doctors is not allowed, it directed the Health Director to inspect and ensure that private hospitals do not engage Government doctors, specially anaesthetist and to submit the first report of surprise inspections on December 2.It also asked the RIMS Director and the JNIMS Director to immediately take steps to ensure that their specialists and doctors attend duties regularly and do not indulge in private practice.
Doctors posted on COVID duties should ensure regular and proper monitoring of COVID patients, it added.
JNIMS Additional Medical Superintendent and Medicine Professor Kh Lokeshore has been given the charge of Medical Superintendent until a regular Medical Superintendent is appointed.
