Imphal, July 28 2021: Police detained 144 people on the charge of violating Covid-19 SOP and guidelines issued by state government to contain the unwarranted spread of the contagion and collected a total amount of Rs 54,400 as fine from them on Wednesday.

According to Rojit Irom, who is staff officer to Manipur Police Department Covid-19 nodal officer IGP (Ops), 38 of the violators were detained in areas under Imphal West district and Rs 15,200 collected at fine followed by 26 persons detained and Rs 10,400 fine collected in Imphal East, 31 persons detained and Rs 6,200 fined in Thoubal, two persons detained and Rs 1,400 collected as fine in Kakching, 30 persons detained and Rs 12,000 collected as fine in Bishnupur district, 12 violators detained and Rs 7,200 collected as fine in Churachandpur and five persons detained and Rs 2,000 collected as fine in Kangpokpi district.
