Tamenglong, June 20 2021:
The Covid pandemic has placed a heavy burden on medical infrastructure across Manipur.
While the State Government has been taking many steps to meet the challenge, some Civil Society Organisations too have stepped forward to assist the Government and local districts administration.
At the request of Armstrong Pame, District Commissioner, Tamenglong, Sunbird Trust, a CSO working across the North East in the field of education has contributed an Arterial Blood Gas and Electrolyte Analyzer critically required for the upcoming ICU at Tamenglong District Hospital.
The machines were handed over by Haobijam Dianarose, Arjun MS and Pratip Ganguly (Sunbird team members) to Armstrong Pane at Tamenglong District Hospital today.
It may be mentioned that Sunbird Trust has also contributed medical supplies for Covid relief work at Singhat, Churachandpur, Moirang Bishnupur, Noney and Oinam Hill villages in coordination with the District Administration.
This includes oxymeters, oxygen concentrators, PPE kits and other related medical supplies.
In Churachandpur, through the aegis of The Highland Group, the Trust provided medical supplies and equipment, quick response ambulance, tele-medical consultation and even meals for the first responders at the request of the District Administration.
