Protest touches 21 days on the trot at Delhi

New Delhi, November 24 2015:
Beginning from November 4, tribals from Manipur who are residing in Delhi have been gathering at Jantar Mantar every evening to pay homage to the 'martyrs' and stand in solidarity against the three Bills passed in the Assembly on August 31 .
The peaceful demonstration along with 9 symbolic coffins, has been on for 21 days now.
The protest under the aegis of Manipur Tribals' Forum, Delhi is an indefinite relay demonstration , where tribe based student bodies take turns in mobilizing and organizing the daily event.
Meanwhile a memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister by the Tribal Forum has been acknowledged by the PMO.
The acknowledgement said that appropriate action will be taken up.
The Jantar Mantar protest is gaining momentum with several support and solidarity pouring in from several Delhi based civil organizations, prominent civil rights activists and individuals.
Members of Parliament from various North East States such as Nagaland, Mizoram, who personally visited the protesters, have extended their support and assurance for taking up the issue further in their capacity.
Civil society from different States in India too have extended their support to the tribals' demand for withdrawal of the three controversial Bills.
