MP Dr Ranjan launches pineapple juice Queen

Imphal, July 18 2020:
Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan launched "Queen" - a processed 'pineapple pulpy juice' at Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal campus today.
Queen is manufactured by Green Biotech Ecosolution Pvt Ltd with the support of CAU Imphal.
The product was launched during the inauguration of an office building of Marjing Industries Private Limited, which produces alcohol based herbal hand sanitiser, at the campus.
It may be noted that the alcohol based herbal Marjing hand sanitizer is formulated by the CSIR-NEIST, Branch Laboratory Lamphelpat with the support of TMH Green Private Limited, Tokyo, Japan.

Dr RK Ranjan also inaugurated the office building today.
Speaking at the event, Dr Ranjan emphasised the need to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth to propel the State's economy.
He particularly thanked the scientists and authority of CAU Imphal for transferring their technology and know-how to companies like Marjing and others for manufacturing hand sanitiser, pineapple juice and other products.
The Act East Policy of the Government will open new doors and better opportunities to many including entrepreneurs and start-ups.
To fully reap the benefit of the policy, scientific organisations and institutions such as CAU and others should assist the young entrepreneurs, he said.
All should work towards development of human resources.
Encouraging work culture and engaging the youths in the right path by providing them good job opportunities will help fight the issue of drug abuse in the State, Ranjan said.
Encouraging CAU Imphal to conduct survey, record and document the indigenous crops and promote them, he said the black aromatic rice was saved from extinction and promoted by the efforts of the scientists of CAU and other institutions concerned, he said.
Expressing concern about the shrinking agricultural space in the State, he said farmers need improved and efficient harvesting technology to enhance their produces.
The State lacks advanced food processing units, technology and cold storages to preserve perishable produces post harvest.
He encouraged entrepreneurs to step in to preserve and process produces of farmers.
