Staff of Kakching Forest Range released one Tokay Gecko at a safe habitat, today.
The reptile was rescued by one Kshetrimayum Chourajit of Kakching Laithagol Leikai a few days back from a hut constructed near Sengmai river.
Speaking to media persons after the reptile was released, N Munal Meitei, Range Forest Officer, said that Tokay Gecko is one very sought-after lizard variety because of the belief that it can cure people with HIV or AIDS and many other ailments.
