Imphal, April 17 2013:
An official delegation of Government of Manipur is likely to visit Saigang Division of Myanmar next month to work out relevant modalities for the introduction of bus service in between Imphal and Mandalay.
According to an informed source, the State Government is expecting a formal intimation from the Saigang Division Chief Minister to the State CM Okram Ibobi Singh, but no decision has been finalised yet as to whether or not the latter would oblige if his presence is solicited.
Inspite of the indecision on the CM's visit, the Government would be deputing a high level State delegation of the Myanmar division for the said talks.

It is also informed that the Saigang Division CM might be sending a formal invitation after the ongoing Water Festival in Myanmar is over.
On the other hand, visit of the high level delegation would cover all relevant formalities for introduction of the Imphal-Mandalay bus service, added the source.
The Imphal-Mandalay bus service is proposed under the Look East Policy.
