Imphal, January 15 2016 :
The Indian
Oil Corporation (IOC) has
initiated action against LPG
distributors which do not
facilitate electronic booking
facility to consumers.
A consumer of a LPG dis-
tributor located on RIMS
Road has complained that the
distributor had not distributed
LPG refills for about a month.
When queried, a senior
officer of the IOC's Imphal
Divisional Retail Sales Office
said that the particular dis-
tributor was closed for about
three days for not complying
with the instruction to extend
electronic booking facility to
the consumers.
As the distributor has in-
troduced electronic booking,
the ban has been lifted, the
official said.
It also started distributing
LPG to the consumers.
The distributor made many
of its consumers wait for re-
fills distribution since early
morning till evening on
Wednesday.
A consumer of the dis-
tributor on condition of
anonymity told
The Sangai
Express
that the staff of the
distributor, after a long wait,
made the consumers who
have made their bookings ear-
lier to make fresh electronic
bookings after collecting their
blue books.
The consumers who form-
ed long queues to get a single
LPG refill were made to
spend the whole day there
missing their earlier appoint-
ments of the day, the consu-
mer said.
At the same time, MM
Gas has cleared bookings
done till December 31, 2015
or earlier.
The distributor has
delivered LPG refills to consumers at the average rate of 276.97 refills per day.
Delivery of LPG refills to 10678 consumers who have
done their booking till January 15 is pending.
Meanwhile, Imphal LPG has cleared booking done till Jan
13 or earlier.
The distributor has delivered refilled LPG cylinders
to consumers at the average rate of 250.32 daily.
Delivery to 2679 consumers who have done booking till Jan
15 is pending.
Meanwhile, a consumer of Thoubal Gas said that he received
just three refilled cylinders each in 2012, 2013 and
2014.
The consumer, who chooses to be anonymous, said that the
IOC's initiative to enhance cooking gas supply has not benefited
consumers of Thoubal Gas while it does to other
agencies.
Thoubal Gas has cleared booking done till Dec 22, 2015.
It distributed LPG refills at an average of 145.72 daily.
Delivery
to 6589 consumers who have already done booking is
pending.
