Food Security Act from Feb in 2 dists

The Food Security Act is likely to be implemented as a pilot project in two districts of the State from February next year.
According to a reliable source from the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF&PD) Department, the Aadhaar number and phone number of beneficiaries were not collected while preparing the beneficiary cards under FSA in the State.
However, since the Govt of India has made it mandaory to include Aadhaar number and phone number of beneficiaries in the ration card, the State Government has started collecting the numbers from the beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries should also submit their photograph to the authority concerned.
The Act will be implemented for the first time in the State in two districts�one each from the hill and valley, as a pilot project from February 2016 .
Preparations have been put in place to implement the Act in the whole of the State from April 1 next year.
It is pertinent to mention that the Act was first implemented in few districts in States like Assam and Tripura.
