The third annual conference of the North East Students Co-ordinating Committee on Manipur Identity to be held in Imphal from September 29 to October 2 will deliberate issues relating to the territorial integrity and identity protection of the State.
The AMSU will host the conference at its headquarters.
Disclosing the information during a press meet at Mass Hotel today, former AMSU general secretary Ch Chidananda and former president of the All Assam Manipuri Students Union Chingsubam Bijando said several Manipuri representatives from other NE States will be taking part in the meet.
Manipuri residents of Bangladesh have already been invited, but their response is awaited, they said.
The student leaders said issues relating to territorial integrity, identity protection particularly in the Bishnupriya context, disturbances on the National Highways and upgradation of NESCOCOMI will be the highlights of the dis�cussion during the four day conference besides several student related problems.
Bijando said that Manipuris residing on Assam also took active part in the anti-ceasefire agitation in the State.
He also lauded the social organizations of the Assam for organizing mass campaigns.
He further informed that an apex body of various social and student organizations in Assam has been formed under the banned of United Peoples' Committee.
