Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia for drowned farmer

Kangpokpi, June 20 2017:
Responding well to the situation, district administration of Kangpokpi district has paid a sum of Rs 4 lakh to the family members of the farmer who drowned during the heavy rain a few days back.
Significantly the ex-gratia was paid just two days after the mortal remains of the farmer was found after days of intense search.
Paominlal @Lalcha Sitlhou drowned at Gundung river on June 13 while the decomposed dead body was found near Thongkhong Heingang and Achanbigei Bridge after hectic search for more than 6 days.
Lalcha is survived by his wife Lhingneilam Sitlhou and six children.
The Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kangpokpi District, announced the ex-gratia today.
The ex-gratia amount will come from the District Disaster Response Funds (DDRF) and it will be transferred to the next of kins through DBT from State Bank of India, Kangpokpi branch.
Meanwhile, wife of the deceased farmer, Lhingneilam Sitlhou has expressed her sincere gratitude to the district administration and other officials concerned for extending the financial aid.
The village chief of Khaochangbung has also extended his sincere gratitude to DC, Kaigoulal Kipgen, Jr.
MCS, SDC (HQs), SDO Saikul, SP Kangpokpi and other officials concerned for their benevolent service and generosity towards the family.
