COVID-19 awareness programmes held

Tengnoupal Battalion Assam Rifles and 165 TA Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) promoted COVID-19 appropriate behaviour at Ldkchao Village yesterday.
Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 across the country, the significance of social distancing, proper sanitisation, maintaining hygiene and prompt actions to be taken during emergency were explained to the villagers, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The event culminated with distribution of sanitizers, masks and ration to villagers.
The village chief highly appreciated the efforts made by Assam Rifles and also requested to continue such assistance in the future, added the statement.
In continuation of its effort in reaching out to the local populace amid COVID-19 resurgence, Loktak Battalion AR under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (East) also conducted an online interaction with Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris of Bishnupur district today.
The online interaction was organised with an aim to dessimenate the Government's variouys advisiories on aspects of COVID-19 appropriate behavior including importance of Covid vaccination, Do's and Don'ts, aspects of wearing of mask, social distancing and latest update on curfew/lockdown, added the statement.
The platform was also utilised to facilitate speedy redressal of greivances faced by Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris of the area.
Various welfare schemes and policies as promulgated by the Higher Headquarters and Central Government were also briefed during the interaction.
