KKDC distributes relief materials

Khundrakpam Kendra Development Committee (KKDC) distributed relief materials to 30 families in and around containment zone in Pourabi today under the supervision of MLA Th Lokeshwar.
Sorokhaibam Yaiskul, general secretary KKDC handed over the relief materials including lentils, salt, soap, cooking oils and rice to members of COVID-19 Task Force Pourabi.
It is responsibility of the public as Well as the concerned department to conduct contact tracing to identify people that might have been infected by the virus.
But if the concerned department is not taking up the role they are supposed to take, it will open door to more problems and appealed the Chief Minister to look into the matter.
S Yaiskul added that result of the people who were tested after contact tracing on May 24 at Chingkhu village has not been released by the department yet.
If testing was conducted and no results were given, it might face problem in future while convincing people to have their test done.
Wahengbam Janmenjoy Meetei, publicity secretary, COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi, said the local MLA have been selflessly working towards making: sure that there were no lapses in the work taken up for the welfare of the people of Khundrakpam AC.
Under the supervision of MLA Th Lokeshwar, a Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) at Naorem Birahari College have also been made operational alongwith ambulance service.
He also appealed concerned departments to visit the village and conduct mass testing to check the magnitude of spread of the virus.
